The Retrofit42 Intensity system provides a robust solution for backboard installations. It comprises a durable 1/4” thick steel support structure, a 42”x72” rectangular aluminum backboard, and a standard high-strength steel rim. The support structure is finished with a silver powder coat, while the backboard features a white powder coat and the rim is powder coated orange.
The backboard itself boasts a 10 gauge aluminum skin and a 1/4” rear support strap structure, with all formed corners and edges fully welded and ground for safety. Its face is punched with 3/8” holes, excluding a 2” border and the shooters square area, and it accepts rims with a 5”x5” hole pattern. The standard rim is fabricated from 3/16” backplates and side plates, featuring double 5/8” diameter high strength steel welded in at least six places, and includes a net locking system with a nylon net, supporting both nylon and chain nets.
The support structure is designed to bolt into the backside of several 42” tall backboards manufactured by First Team, Inc., and provides vertical mounting slots for attachment to most poles with at least a 6”x6” faceplate (drilling may be required). It also includes adequate rim support to prevent backboard breakage. The entire system has an approximate weight of 167# and is manufactured in the USA.
