In short

The Jaypro BBTF-55 is a semi-permanent outdoor batting tunnel frame for a single 55 ft. batting cage net. It is built from galvanized steel tube and sets into included ground sleeves that are anchored in concrete footings, so the frame stays in place for the season while the net can be removed. It accepts either 12 ft. or 14 ft. wide tunnel nets, making it a fit for schools, clubs and training facilities that want a permanent-feel outdoor hitting station.

The BBTF-55 semi-permanent outdoor batting tunnel frame is constructed of 2" OD galvanized steel tube for corrosion resistance in year-round outdoor use. The net hangs on three rows of 3/16" galvanized aircraft cable, and the cable run is tensioned with a turnbuckle so the net can be pulled tight and re-adjusted over time.

Ground sleeves are included with the frame. The uprights are imbedded in the ground and set in concrete footings, giving a rigid structure without the frame being permanently welded in place - the posts can be pulled from the sleeves when the tunnel is taken down. Jaypro shows a suggested footing detail on the spec drawing, but local building codes take precedence and should be checked before any concrete is poured.

The frame is sized for a 55 ft. long net with an overall frame length of 59 ft. and uprights spaced 19'-8" apart. It accommodates both 12 ft. and 14 ft. wide nets, and the design allows 12" of excess net at the bottom so balls cannot roll out under the tunnel.

Warranty

Jaypro Sports (Waterford, Connecticut) warrants its equipment against defects in material and workmanship from the date of shipment. Coverage length depends on the product line — where a specific period is listed above, that period applies to this model. Jaypro warranty periods run as follows:

Limited Lifetime – glass basketball backboards (GBAFR-48, GBRUB-42, GBRUB-54) against breaks and cracks in the glass when used with a direct goal mount.
25 years – structure of wall-mounted basketball backstops and Shooting Station systems.
10 years – uprights on FeatherLite, PowerLite and Hybrid Steel volleyball net systems.
7 years – Collegiate competition basketball goals (GBA-542 "Shot", GBA-642 "Revolution").
5 years – Revolution Series 180° flex basketball goals.
3 years – the majority of the catalog: fixed and breakaway basketball goals, aluminum backboards, lacrosse and field hockey goals, floor sleeves, sleeve reducers and floor anchors, referee stands and equipment carriers.
1 year – bases, home plates and pitching rubbers, volleyball nets and net accessories (antennas, boundary tape, court lines), batting cage systems and general accessories.

The warranty covers factory defects under normal, intended use. Jaypro will repair, replace or refund the defective item at its discretion; claims require a Return Authorization (RMA) before any item is sent back.

Not covered: normal wear, weather exposure, cosmetic damage that does not affect function, improper installation, use other than intended, and any unauthorized alteration or modification of the original factory configuration. As an authorized Jaypro Sports dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.

Frequently asked questions

What net size does the BBTF-55 frame take?

The frame is designed for a 55'-0" long net and accommodates either a 12'-0" or a 14'-0" wide tunnel net. Net height at the frame is 11'-0", with 12" of excess net left at the bottom so balls do not roll under the tunnel.

Are ground sleeves included, and is concrete required?

Ground sleeves are included with the BBTF-55. The sleeves are set into concrete footings with the posts imbedded 2'-0" in the ground. Jaypro's drawing shows a suggested Ø18" x 30" deep footing over crushed stone, but local building codes must be checked first and followed if they are more demanding.
