In short

The Gared SGUA-STRIKER Underground Anchors are a set of four 18" long, 2-3/8" O.D. galvanized steel anchors made specifically for Gared Striker Series soccer goals with 4" round posts. Each anchor pipe is set in a reinforced concrete footing, then a strap clamp ties the goal's backstay to the anchor. One set of four is strongly recommended for a pair of goals, with a minimum of two per goal.

Portable soccer goals tip over when they are not held down, and the CPSC warns that the consequences can be serious injury or death. The SGUA-STRIKER anchor set is Gared's underground solution for the Striker Series: anchors designed to fit Striker goals with 4" round posts, keeping the goal secured to the field without counterweights sitting in the run-off area.

Each of the four anchors is 18" long and made from 2-3/8" O.D. galvanized steel; the anchors and clamps are heavy gage galvanized steel throughout. The anchor pipe must be installed in a reinforced concrete footing before the strap clamp is attached to the backstay. Gared's drawing shows a minimum foundation of 1'-0" (0.30 m) diameter by 3'-0" (0.91 m) deep, with the concrete supplied by others.

Use a minimum of two anchors per goal; one set of four covers a matched pair of goals. Goals should be used only on level fields, hardware checked before every use, and goals stored face-to-face, chained to a fence or kept in a secure area when not in play.

Warranty

1-Year Limited Warranty against defects in material or factory workmanship

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.

What is the difference between SGUA-STRIKER and the standard SGUA anchors?

The SGUA-STRIKER is designed for Gared Striker Series goals with 4" round posts, while the standard SGUA fits goals with 1-5/8" diameter backstays. Both are sets of four 18" galvanized steel underground anchors.

Is concrete required to install these anchors?

Yes. The anchor pipe must be set in a reinforced concrete foundation - minimum 1'-0" diameter by 3'-0" deep per Gared's drawing - before the strap clamp is attached to the backstay. Concrete is supplied by others.

How many anchors should be used per goal?

A minimum of two anchors per goal. One set of four anchors is strongly recommended for a pair of soccer goals.
