In short

The Gared FGP401SY is a pair of yellow high school football goalposts built on a 4-1/2" O.D. gooseneck post with a 5'-0" offset for permanent or ground-sleeve installation. Uprights are 2-3/8" O.D. aluminum standing 20'-0" above the crossbar with regulation 23'-4" high school spacing, and wind flags are included. Post padding and concrete are not included.

Score the championship field goal with the FGP401SY yellow football goalpost with permanent or sleeve mount installation. The 4-1/2" O.D. gooseneck post carries the crossbar and 20' tall high school regulation uprights on 23'-4" spacing, and the 5' offset moves the post base back from the end line so multiple sports can share the field.

The gooseneck post and crossbar are powder coated over galvanized steel, while the uprights are heavy wall aluminum tubing finished in yellow powder coat. The crossbar is held level by set screws and a locking bolt, and a threaded rod installed in the post prevents the goalpost from rotating in the concrete. Wind flags are supplied with the goals.

For permanent installation the post is set approximately 42" into a concrete footing roughly 36" in diameter and 48" deep; concrete, rebar and gravel drainage are by others. The same standard unit can be installed semi-permanently with the optional FGP400GS ground sleeve kit. Optional GSPPAD4 protective post pads fit posts up to 6" O.D. and are 6' high for areas where body contact may occur - padding is not included with the unit.

Warranty

5-Year Limited Warranty against defects in material or factory workmanship

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.

Frequently asked questions

Is this goalpost sold as a pair?

Yes. The FGP401S model consists of two goal posts, and the parts quantities in the installation manual are shown for one goal since FGP goals are sold in pairs.

Can the FGP401SY be installed without permanent concrete embedment?

The standard unit is designed for permanent installation with the post set roughly 42" into the footing, but semi-permanent installation is possible using the optional FGP400GS ground sleeve kit, which is ordered separately and set in a concrete footing.

Does the goalpost include post padding?

No. Padding is not included. Optional GSPPAD4 protective post pads are available for posts up to 6" O.D.; they are 6' high, made of high density urethane foam covered in 18 oz. mildew and UV resistant coated vinyl.
