In short

The Gared FGP601PY is a pair of yellow high school football goalposts built on a heavy 5-9/16" O.D. gooseneck post with permanent adjustable plate (surface) mounting. Aluminum uprights run 20'-0" above the 4-1/2" crossbar at regulation 23'-4" high school spacing, and the 6'-0" offset pulls the base well back from the end line. Wind flags are included; this model is not compatible with ground sleeves.

Score the championship field goal with the FGP601PY yellow football goalpost with surface mount installation. The 5-9/16" O.D. gooseneck post carries the crossbar and 20' tall high school regulation uprights on 23'-4" spacing, and the 6' offset allows multiple sports to share the field by keeping the post base clear of the end line.

The gooseneck post and crossbar are powder coated over galvanized steel, and the uprights are heavy wall aluminum tubing finished in yellow. The crossbar retains level by set screws and a locking bolt. This plate mount version bolts down through the lower post plate using four 3/4" diameter threaded anchors, and the 3/4-10 threaded rod cast into the concrete foundation must be square with the field end line.

Upright mounting anchors are installed in a concrete footing approximately 36" in diameter and 55" deep; concrete and gravel foundation are not included. This model is not compatible with ground sleeves. Optional GSPPAD4 protective post pads fit posts up to 6" O.D., stand 6' high and are built from high density urethane foam covered with 18 oz. mildew and UV resistant coated vinyl - padding is not included with the unit.

Warranty

5-Year Limited Warranty against defects in material or factory workmanship

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the 5-9/16" and 4-1/2" high school goalposts?

The FGP601PY uses a heavier 5-9/16" O.D. gooseneck post with a 72" post offset, while the 4-1/2" O.D. models use a 60" offset. Both carry the same 4-1/2" crossbar, 20' aluminum uprights and 23'-4" high school upright spacing.

How is the surface mount goalpost anchored?

The post mounts with four 3/4" diameter threaded anchors through the lower post plate. The threaded rod is cast into a concrete footing approximately 36" in diameter and 55" deep, and must be square with the field end line.

Are wind flags and padding included?

Wind flags are included with the goalposts. Padding is not - optional GSPPAD4 protective post pads for posts up to 6" O.D. are sold separately.
