The Retrofit42 Intensity system provides a robust refurbishing solution featuring a 42”x72” rectangular aluminum backboard. The backboard skin is 10 gauge, with a ¼” rear support strap structure, and all formed corners and edges are fully welded and ground for safety. Its face is punched with 3/8” holes, excluding a 2” border and shooter's square, and is coated with a white powder coat finish. The backboard is manufactured in the USA and designed to accept rims with a 5”x5” hole pattern.
The support structure, designated FT42RF, consists of 1/4” thick steel construction, powder coated silver. It is engineered to bolt into the backside of various 42” tall First Team, Inc. backboards and offers vertical mounting slots for attachment to most poles with at least a 6”x6” faceplate. This structure also provides adequate rim support to prevent backboard breakage when players hang from the rim.
A standard rim is included, fabricated from 3/16” fully welded backplates and side plates. It features double 5/8” diameter, high-strength steel, welded in at least six places, and is entirely powder coated orange. Nets attach via a net locking system compatible with both nylon and chain nets, with a nylon net included. The entire system weighs approximately 167# and carries a Lifetime Limited Warranty covering the support structure, backboard, and standard rim.
