The Retrofit42 Intensity system includes a 42”x72” rectangular aluminum backboard with a 10 gauge skin and a 1/4” rear support strap structure. This backboard, manufactured in the USA, features a white powder coat finish and is punched throughout with 3/8” holes, excluding a 2” border and the shooters square area. All formed corners and edges are fully welded and ground for safety, and it is designed to accept rims with a 5”x5” hole pattern.
The support structure for the Retrofit42 Intensity is constructed from 1/4” thick steel and finished with a silver powder coat. It is engineered to bolt into the backside of various 42” tall backboards manufactured by First Team, Inc. The structure also includes vertical mounting slots, enabling the backboard to be mounted to most poles with a faceplate of at least 6”x6”, and provides adequate rim support to prevent backboard breakage when players hang from the rim. The standard rim included is fabricated from 3/16” backplates and side plates, fully welded, and consists of double 5/8” diameter, high strength steel welded together at a minimum of six places. The entire rim is powder coated orange.
Nets are attached to the rim via a net locking system that accommodates both nylon or chain nets, with a nylon net included. The entire system has an approximate weight of 167#. A Lifetime Limited Warranty covers the support structure, backboard, and standard rim.
