Tennis courts are built to accommodate both singles and doubles play, so the net posts are set outside the doubles sidelines. This creates a problem for singles matches: while the net sits at the correct 36 in. height in the center, it becomes too low at the singles sidelines since the doubles posts hold it at 42 in. only at the wider doubles lines.

Douglas Singles Sticks solve this by being placed at the singles sidelines to lift the net back up to the required 42 in. height, creating the proper V-shaped slope specified by the rules of tennis. They are made from 3/4 in. aluminum with a silver finish, protective end caps for durability, and an injection-molded V groove designed to securely hold the net headband in position.

Douglas Industries, Inc. (Eldridge, Iowa) backs its equipment with the Douglas® Standard Limited Warranty against defects in material and factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — where a specific period is listed above, that period applies to this model. Douglas warranty periods run as follows:

Limited Lifetime – gooseneck basketball posts with 6' extension.
25 years – gooseneck basketball posts with 4' extension.
10 years – gooseneck posts with 3' extension; pro-rated structural warranty on Bakko and steel/aluminum backboards (1 year on the Imron® finish); selected post and net systems.
7 years – Douglas® MAX batting tunnel frames (with proper installation and normal use).
5 years – standard Douglas® batting tunnel frames, most tennis / volleyball / pickleball post systems and Premier™ posts; 5-year fade warranty on Sunbrella® canvas.
4 years – VCP MAX windscreen mesh, #420 knotless pylon netting and other netting lines; fabrics are warranted pro-rata for 3–4 years against material defects and poor workmanship.
3 years – selected fabric and netting products.
2 years – selected hardware and padding.

Digital printing on windscreen and vinyl products carries the same warranty as the underlying windscreen or vinyl material.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations, abuse or misuse, normal wear, and damage from fire, flood, wind, lightning or leaving products outdoors beyond their intended seasonal use.
