The First Team Galaxy system features uprights constructed with an external 3 1/2" outside diameter black carbon fiber tube and a telescoping 3" outside diameter 6061-T6 aluminum inner pole. These uprights incorporate a pin-and-slot design to prevent rotation and separation, and the base is fitted with a non-marking footpad. Net height is infinitely variable from a minimum of 78" to 96", controlled by a single threaded release knob per standard, with height settings clearly identified on the inner pole. For player safety, each standard is padded to a minimum height of 72" with 1 1/2" thick high-density foam, available in 12 school colors, and rope padding of at least 1/2" thick foam with a white vinyl cover is included. Non-winch standards weigh approximately 30 lbs, while the winch end standard weighs approximately 35 lbs.
The competition-grade net is one meter high, made from black polypropylene 3.5mm knotless woven webbing, with a Kevlar top rope and polypropylene bottom rope. Its top, bottom, and sides are finished with white tarpaulin fabric and double stitched hemmed edges. Net tensioning is managed by a 26:1 ratio worm gear winch for the top rope, which winds a 2" wide nylon webbing strap and includes a non-removable folding handle, using a 4" diameter steel pulley. The bottom rope is tensioned by a ratcheting style tensioner, and each net side tape features internal dowels and no less than two ratchet style rope tensioners per end.
