The Douglas D-Pro 646 MAX Basketball System is built around a 42 in. x 72 in. clear-view tempered glass backboard that is 1/2 in. thick, matching the specifications used at competitive levels such as the NBA and NCAA. The backboard features an aluminum perimeter frame supported by a welded steel back frame, along with black, one-inch thick molded vinyl padding pre-installed for player safety.

The system's pressure breakaway goal is constructed of steel with a CSPC compliant powder-coat finish, featuring a 5/8 in. thick, 18 in. steel rim and a double spring pressure flex breakaway mechanism designed to withstand heavy, unsupervised play and repetitive dunks. It attaches to the backboard via a double reinforced steel backplate, while corrosion-resistant reinforced extension arms (1-9/16 in. x 3-1/8 in. top, 2 in. x 4 in. lower) support the clear-view design with a 4 ft. regulation overhang.

Supporting the system is a one-piece, 6 in. square galvanized steel pole with a 3/16 in. wall thickness and double welded base gussets, finished in black acrylic powder coat to resist chipping, rusting, and corrosion. A 2 in. thick fitted pole and base pad is included for player safety, and the goal height adjusts effortlessly from 5-1/2 ft. to 10 ft. using two lift-assist cylinders.

Warranty

Douglas Industries, Inc. (Eldridge, Iowa) backs its equipment with the Douglas® Standard Limited Warranty against defects in material and factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — where a specific period is listed above, that period applies to this model. Douglas warranty periods run as follows:

Limited Lifetime – gooseneck basketball posts with 6' extension.
25 years – gooseneck basketball posts with 4' extension.
10 years – gooseneck posts with 3' extension; pro-rated structural warranty on Bakko and steel/aluminum backboards (1 year on the Imron® finish); selected post and net systems.
7 years – Douglas® MAX batting tunnel frames (with proper installation and normal use).
5 years – standard Douglas® batting tunnel frames, most tennis / volleyball / pickleball post systems and Premier™ posts; 5-year fade warranty on Sunbrella® canvas.
4 years – VCP MAX windscreen mesh, #420 knotless pylon netting and other netting lines; fabrics are warranted pro-rata for 3–4 years against material defects and poor workmanship.
3 years – selected fabric and netting products.
2 years – selected hardware and padding.
1 year – accessories, replacement parts and paint / finish coverage.

Digital printing on windscreen and vinyl products carries the same warranty as the underlying windscreen or vinyl material.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations, abuse or misuse, normal wear, and damage from fire, flood, wind, lightning or leaving products outdoors beyond their intended seasonal use.
