The Gared GP8G60DM Collegiate Jam is an adjustable in-ground basketball system with a 5" square steel post, a 42" x 60" glass backboard (BB60G38HH), and a 1000 Scholastic breakaway rim with nylon net. Playing height adjusts between 7'-0" and 10'-0" using the lockable sidewind actuator, and the post bolts to a concrete footing for easier installation.

The Collegiate Jam is designed for applications requiring a durable adjustable basketball system for outdoor use, such as a park, playground, or residential setting. It can be adjusted from youth to competitive heights by engaging the post actuator and locking it into place.

The GP8G60DM uses a 5" square steel post with 3/16" wall thickness and two formed steel extension arms connected by a large diameter pivot bolt, with tight-fit non-metallic flanged bearings at every pivot point. The arms give a 3'-0" distance from the backboard to the post at the 10' playing height and are raised and lowered by a heavy duty lockable actuator anywhere between 7'-0" and 10'-0". Post and arms are powder coated black to prevent rust.

The board is a Gared BB60G38HH rectangular glass backboard with clear view design: 3/8" thick tempered glass on a steel tubular frame with aluminum extrusions, 42" high by 60" wide. The goal is a Gared 1000 Scholastic Breakaway Rim, official 18" size in 5/8" diameter steel with continuous no-tie net attachment, full wing brace design, orange powder coat, and a nylon net.

Installation is a bolt-to-ground design using a template plate and 3/4" zinc plated U-bolts set in roughly 1/2 yard of concrete (14-16 bags of 80 lb pre-mix), cured 72 hours before the post is set. Optional padding is available: LSCE60 backboard padding, PP5WR or PP5SQF pole pads, and BP5SQ base pole pad. Padding is not included with the unit.

Warranty

1-Year Limited Warranty on materials and factory workmanship

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.
