The GC55-LG from Ironclad's GameChanger series is an in-ground basketball system designed to bring gymnasium-style play to home driveways. Its 5/16" thick tempered glass backboard measures 36" x 60" and is paired with a professional-quality breakaway rim for authentic rebounds and safe rim contact.

Support comes from a one-piece 12 ga. 5"x5" steel post, which the manufacturer notes is thicker than competing two-piece post designs. The all-steel actuator lets users adjust rim height from 7.5' to 10', and the bolt-down anchor system allows the unit to be leveled or relocated if the owner moves.

Safety and durability features include pre-installed backboard padding, post padding, black powder coat protection, and zinc-plated assembly bolts. The system ships with liftgate delivery to ease unloading from the delivery truck.

Lifetime warranty covers dunking/rim-hang only (GameChanger); excludes vandalism and weather/UV wear; paint & padding 1 yr; original owner only.

Every Ironclad Sports basketball system is backed by the manufacturer's Lifetime Warranty. This model carries the warranty noted above. Here is what Ironclad's warranty covers:

Lifetime Warranty on the system - covers damage caused by any basketball related activity, including dunking and hanging on the rim.
GameChanger models - warrantied against dunking only.
Coating - all painted items carry a one-year limited warranty on the coating.
Padding - all post and backboard padding carries a one-year limited warranty.
Not covered - damage caused by vandalism, and normal wear and tear from weathering or UV exposure.

Frequently asked questions

How much clearance is needed behind the post if it's near a wall?

Ironclad recommends allowing 18" of distance from the back of the post to any wall or obstruction for ease of cranking.

Can the GC55-LG be relocated if I move?

Yes, the bolt-down anchor base lets the unit be disconnected from the concrete footing and reinstalled elsewhere using a new set of anchor bolts.

Is the 36"x60" backboard size right for my driveway?

A two-car driveway is best suited for a 54" or 60" wide backboard, making the GC55-LG's 60" backboard a good fit for that space.
