In short

The Jaypro BBTFSM-55 is a 55 ft. single outdoor batting tunnel frame that bolts to an existing slab or hard surface instead of being set in ground sleeves. Uprights of 2" OD galvanized steel tube land on surface mount plates fastened with 1/2" anchors (supplied by others), and four adjustable brace pipes keep the frame from bending under net tension. It accepts 12 ft. or 14 ft. wide tunnel nets, so it suits schools, clubs and facilities that already have a concrete pad.

The BBTFSM-55 is the surface mounted version of Jaypro's outdoor batting tunnel frame. Rather than imbedding posts in the ground, each upright terminates in a surface mount base plate that is fastened down with 1/2" anchors provided by the installer, which makes it the practical choice where a slab or existing hard surface is already in place.

Construction is 2" OD galvanized steel tube for outdoor durability, with the net carried on three rows of 3/16" galvanized aircraft cable. The cable is adjustable with a turnbuckle so the net can be tensioned properly and re-tightened later. Four adjustable brace pipes are part of the design to stop the frame bending in under the extreme tension of the nets, and an optional brace kit (BBTF-BRKIT) is available separately.

The frame carries a 55 ft. long net with an overall frame length of 59 ft. and uprights spaced 19'-8" apart. It accommodates both 12 ft. and 14 ft. wide nets and leaves 12" of excess net at the bottom so balls cannot roll out under the tunnel.

Warranty

Jaypro Sports (Waterford, Connecticut) warrants its equipment against defects in material and workmanship from the date of shipment. Coverage length depends on the product line — where a specific period is listed above, that period applies to this model. Jaypro warranty periods run as follows:

Limited Lifetime – glass basketball backboards (GBAFR-48, GBRUB-42, GBRUB-54) against breaks and cracks in the glass when used with a direct goal mount.
25 years – structure of wall-mounted basketball backstops and Shooting Station systems.
10 years – uprights on FeatherLite, PowerLite and Hybrid Steel volleyball net systems.
7 years – Collegiate competition basketball goals (GBA-542 "Shot", GBA-642 "Revolution").
5 years – Revolution Series 180° flex basketball goals.
3 years – the majority of the catalog: fixed and breakaway basketball goals, aluminum backboards, lacrosse and field hockey goals, floor sleeves, sleeve reducers and floor anchors, referee stands and equipment carriers.
1 year – bases, home plates and pitching rubbers, volleyball nets and net accessories (antennas, boundary tape, court lines), batting cage systems and general accessories.

The warranty covers factory defects under normal, intended use. Jaypro will repair, replace or refund the defective item at its discretion; claims require a Return Authorization (RMA) before any item is sent back.

Not covered: normal wear, weather exposure, cosmetic damage that does not affect function, improper installation, use other than intended, and any unauthorized alteration or modification of the original factory configuration. As an authorized Jaypro Sports dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.

Frequently asked questions

How is the BBTFSM-55 anchored?

It uses surface mount base plates fastened with 1/2" anchors, which are supplied by others. This differs from the semi-permanent version, which is imbedded in ground sleeves and concrete.

What net sizes fit this frame?

The BBTFSM-55 is built for a 55'-0" long net and accommodates either a 12'-0" or 14'-0" wide net. Net height is 11'-0" with 12" of excess net left at the bottom.

Does it come with bracing?

Yes - the design includes four adjustable brace pipes to prevent the frame from bending in under extreme net tension. An additional optional brace kit, BBTF-BRKIT, is sold separately.
