The Gared 6809 is a permanent inground tetherball system built around a 2-3/8" O.D. galvanized steel post, designed for schoolyards and playgrounds. It ships with the post, plated hardware, and a tetherball with a 9'-10" nylon rope, ready to be set into a concrete footing supplied on-site. An optional ground sleeve (6824) allows for removable installation instead of direct burial.

The Gared 6809 Inground Tetherball System is a permanent playground fixture built from 2-3/8" O.D., 13-gauge galvanized steel tubing. The post measures 12 feet in total length, with 2 feet designed to be embedded into a concrete footing that is supplied and poured on-site by others, over a 6" gravel base.

A threaded rod at the base of the post prevents rotation once set in the concrete, keeping the system stable during play. The package includes the post, zinc-plated hardware such as the eye-bolt, and a standard tetherball attached to a 9'-10" nylon rope, giving schools and playgrounds a complete ready-to-install setup.

For sites that require a removable or relocatable post rather than direct burial, Gared offers the 6824 Tetherball Ground Sleeve as a separate accessory, along with a matching 6825 sleeve cap and 6827 locking sleeve cover for added security when the post is removed.

Warranty

1 year from purchase/completion; covers manufacturing/material defects only, not misuse or improper installation.

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.

Does the concrete footing come with the system?

No, the concrete foundation is supplied by others; the post is designed to embed 2 feet into a 2'-6" deep footing over 6" of gravel.

Can this post be installed without permanent burial?

Yes, it can optionally be installed with the 6824 Ground Sleeve (ordered separately) instead of direct concrete embedment.

What is included with the 6809 system?

It includes the 2-3/8" galvanized steel post, plated hardware including a zinc-plated eye-bolt, and a tetherball with a 9'-10" nylon rope.
