In short

The Gared PKRG20PM is a complete scholastic gymnasium basketball package: a 48" x 72" model RG steel frame tempered glass backboard, the industry-standard 2000+ breakaway rim, and PMCE backboard padding. It takes the guesswork out of matching board, goal and pad for a gym court.

The PKRG20PM package bundles a matched backboard, goal and pad so a court can be specified in one part number. It combines the tall 48" x 72" RG glass backboard, the 2000+ breakaway goal and PMCE padding.

The RG backboard is fabricated with a steel frame of formed steel angles connected with heavy gauge steel mounting brackets to reinforce the corners, powder coated in a durable neutral gray. The glass is 1/2" fully tempered with a white border and target lines permanently fused onto the surface; Gared specifies a nominal thickness range of .485" to .515" and does not accept 12mm glass as a substitute. Vinyl shock absorbing material insulates the glass from the frame, and shock insulating pads sit between the steel goal mounting plate and the glass. Goal mounting holes are on standard 5" horizontal and 5" vertical centers, and the board meets NCAA and high school requirements.

The 2000+ collegiate goal is factory set to deflect at 140 lbs and to a 50% to 52% Fair Court measurement, against an NCAA requirement of 35% to 50%. Gared allows the vertical springs to be adjusted equally in half-turn steps (roughly 1% to 1.5% per full turn) but never more than 1/4" from the original factory position. The backboard carries a lifetime warranty against defects, with glass breakage covered only when a Gared Direct Goal Attachment is used.

Warranty

Lifetime Warranty on model RG steel frame glass backboard (glass covered only with Gared Direct Goal Attachment)

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.
