In short

The Gared PKARG20PM is a conversion gymnasium basketball package that upgrades an existing fan-shaped board to regulation glass. It combines a regulation 42" x 72" ARG glass conversion backboard, the industry-standard 2000+ breakaway rim and PMCE padding, so board, goal and pad are specified in a single part number.

The PKARG20PM package takes the guesswork out of configuring backboard and rim combinations. It is built for facilities that already have a fan-shaped board and want to move up to regulation glass without redesigning the backstop: the ARG conversion backboard measures a regulation 42" x 72" and mounts in place of the existing board.

The package includes the 2000+ collegiate breakaway goal, which Gared states meets all NCAA and NFSHSA specifications. The goal is factory set to deflect at 140 lbs and to a 50% to 52% Fair Court measurement; the NCAA requirement is 35% to 50%, with all goals on a playing court within 5% of each other. Both vertical springs may be adjusted equally in half-turn steps, changing the measurement by about 1% to 1.5% per full turn, but never more than 1/4" from the factory position.

PMCE padding completes the package for player protection under the board. Installation calls for a #2 Phillips screwdriver, a 9/16" wrench and a level, with stud nuts torqued to 9 to 11 ft-lbs and all bolt nuts to 15 to 20 ft-lbs. The package ships by truck at 292 lbs / 132.45 kg.

4-Year Limited Warranty on the 2000+ Collegiate Breakaway Goal

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.
