The Gared JJ5A Junior Jammer is a youth backboard adapter that clamps onto an existing competition goal and lowers the rim to 5 fixed heights from 7'-0" to 9'-0", including the official youth height of 8'-6". It ships complete with a model 1320B fiberglass backboard, a model 28WO fixed stationary rim and a net.

The JJ5A Junior Jammer lets younger players use full competition backstops without permanent changes to the system. It lowers the height of the standard goal to the official youth height of 8'-6" and moves the goal 2' closer to the free throw line, and it adjusts to 5 different heights from 7'-0" to 9'-0".

The unit is built from a square aluminum tubing vertical frame with a horizontal aluminum mounting structure sized to fit a standard goal ring. It connects to the existing ring with heavy duty clamp knobs, and a diagonal adjustable telescoping brace stabilizes the backboard in any of the 5 vertical positions. The lightweight fiberglass backboard mounts on an aluminum sub-frame that can be repositioned to any of the 5 height levels.

One unit includes the backboard, goal with net, upper framework, lower framework and a hardware kit, shipped in three boxes. Gared requires that hand knobs contact the goal beneath the welded support flange or goal rim to lock in place, that the unit not be installed on portable backstops that are not securely anchored to the floor, and that play be supervised so no one hangs on the rim or slam dunks on the adapter.

Warranty

2-Year Limited Warranty (Models JJ1/JJ5A Junior Jammer backboard adapters)

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.
