In short

The Gared 66T is an institutional rear-mount fixed basketball goal with an official size 18" ring of 5/8" diameter steel and a continuous no-tie net attachment. It is welded steel with an orange powder coat finish, weighs 19 lbs and ships complete with a nylon net and mounting hardware. The goal meets NCAA (except Division I) and NFSHSA specifications.

The 66T is Gared's best selling economical fixed goal for institutional courts. The ring is official size at 18" diameter and made from 5/8" diameter steel, braced from beneath and finished in official orange powder coat. Continuous no-tie net attachment means the net snaps into place instead of being tied, which shortens both installation and net changes.

Structurally the goal is welded steel with a 7-gauge back plate 6" wide and 7/16" square mounting holes, so it bolts to the rear of a compatible board. Gared lists models 1266 and 1266B as compatible backboards and refers installers to the Goal-Board Matrix specification sheet for other boards.

Installation uses four carriage bolts torqued to 15-20 ft-lbs plus a 7/16" hex bolt through the bottom of the goal into the threaded hole in the board, torqued to 20-24 ft-lbs, followed by the cover plate and net. Maintenance calls for spraying the swing rod and bushings with penetrating lubricant twice a year and an annual inspection of moving components, welds and overall condition. The goal is factory set to deflect at 90 lbs and meets NCAA (except Division I) and NFSHSA specifications.

Warranty

1-year limited warranty against defects in material or factory workmanship

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.
