The Scholastic Flex Rim is the choice for a facility that needs an institutional-quality breakaway rim without a positive lock mechanism. The 1000 is built on a balanced two spring design so the goal deflects in degrees according to the applied pressure, giving the accordion-like breakaway action that suits playgrounds, elementary courts and recreational facilities.

The ring is official size, 18" of 5/8" diameter steel, supported by a continuous welded wrap around brace, and finished in official orange powder coat. A continuous no-tie ring speeds net changes, and the goal is supplied with an anti-whip nylon net and mounting hardware. Gared states the goal meets NCAA and high school requirements and is factory set to deflect at 90 lbs.

The universal goal mounting plate fits the hole pattern for most 42" and 48" rectangular backboards and most fan-shaped backboards, making the 1000 one of the most compatible options for non-competition board and rim combinations. Installation uses two carriage bolts through the top mounting holes plus hex bolts below, with stud nuts torqued to 9 to 11 ft-lbs and all bolt nuts to 15 to 20 ft-lbs.

Warranty

2-Year Limited Warranty (Model 1000 Scholastic Flex breakaway goal)

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.
