The Gared RG backboard combines a 1/2" thick fully tempered glass panel with a welded steel frame made of formed steel angles reinforced at the corners with heavy gauge steel mounting brackets. Vinyl shock-absorbing material insulates the glass from the frame, and shock insulating pads sit between the steel goal mounting plate and the glass to reduce breakage risk.

At 48" x 72" overall, the RG offers an oversized shooting surface with a 5'-3" x 3'-6" target area and standard 5" x 5" goal mounting hole centers, allowing use with Gared goal models 1000, 2000+, 2500, 3000, 20123T-A (Snap A), and 5500. The entire frame and components receive a gray powder coat finish for durability.

Manufactured in the United States, the RG meets NCAA and high school backboard requirements and is intended for direct mount goal installations to maximize longevity of the tall glass backboard.

Warranty

Lifetime warranty on materials/workmanship; glass breakage covered only when used with Direct Goal Attachment.

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.
