The Durable Douglas Suspended Backstop Cable System is designed as a tie-back alternative to a standard pole-to-pole backstop, providing a more unobstructed view for fans while still delivering maximum protection from errant balls. The system is framed with tensioned 1/4 in. galvanized steel aircraft cable rated to 6,100 lb. breaking strength, keeping the netting taut without sagging.
The heavy-duty steel poles measure 10-3/4 in. OD with a .375 in. wall thickness and are finished in a weatherproof black powder coat for long-term durability and a professional appearance. Other pole sizes are available by request. All installation hardware, including 12 in. eyebolts, 12 in. and 6 in. turnbuckles, 1/4 in. cable clamps, and 8 mm carabiner clips, is included with the system.
The included netting is Douglas Professional #12 Knotted Dyneema in a 1-3/4 in. square mesh, offering a 308 lb. break strength along with 94% visibility. This twisted, knotted UHMPE material is treated for maximum UV and weather resistance, and the netting perimeter is finished with a sewn rope border. Backstop padding is quoted separately, and alternative netting can be substituted upon request.
