The Gooseneck 4.5" FST Basketball System from Douglas is built for outdoor recreational use in schoolyards, municipal parks, and rec facilities. The package centers on a 4-1/2 in. O.D. gooseneck post with a 4 ft. extension, formed from heavy wall galvanized steel for weather resistance, standing approximately 13 ft. tall with 3 ft. set in a 4 ft. x 2 ft. concrete footing for stability, and providing a 48 in. safe play area.

The FST backboard is a 35 in. x 54 in. fan-shaped steel design with a 12 gauge steel shell, white powder-coat finish, and printed target and border. It mounts via keyhole slots at 20 in. vertical by 35 in. horizontal centers with 5 in. x 4-1/2 in. hole spacing, and includes two reinforced safety mount holes to reduce vibration. It is compatible with ceiling and wall mounted systems as well as gooseneck and straight-arm posts.

The rim is the Dura Goal I front-mount fixed goal, featuring an 18 in. double steel ring with a 5/8 in. top ring and 1/2 in. bottom ring, dual 5/8 in. x 15 in. bracing, and a universal backplate; a nylon net is included. Fixed rims are not recommended for use with glass backboards. The complete system weighs 310 lbs and is installed via standard in-ground direct bury.

Douglas Industries, Inc. (Eldridge, Iowa) backs its equipment with the Douglas® Standard Limited Warranty against defects in material and factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — where a specific period is listed above, that period applies to this model. Douglas warranty periods run as follows:

Limited Lifetime – gooseneck basketball posts with 6' extension.
25 years – gooseneck basketball posts with 4' extension.
10 years – gooseneck posts with 3' extension; pro-rated structural warranty on Bakko and steel/aluminum backboards (1 year on the Imron® finish); selected post and net systems.
7 years – Douglas® MAX batting tunnel frames (with proper installation and normal use).
5 years – standard Douglas® batting tunnel frames, most tennis / volleyball / pickleball post systems and Premier™ posts; 5-year fade warranty on Sunbrella® canvas.
4 years – VCP MAX windscreen mesh, #420 knotless pylon netting and other netting lines; fabrics are warranted pro-rata for 3–4 years against material defects and poor workmanship.

Digital printing on windscreen and vinyl products carries the same warranty as the underlying windscreen or vinyl material.
