The Douglas Gooseneck 4.5" RPGR Basketball System is built around a park-standard 4-1/2 in. O.D. gooseneck post with a 4 ft. extension, formed from heavy wall galvanized steel for protection against weather elements. The post stands approximately 13 ft. tall, with 3 ft. installed in a 4 ft. x 2 ft. concrete footing for long-lasting stability, and includes a welded backboard mounting plate for hassle-free attachment. The post carries a 25-Year Limited Warranty and is intended for standard direct-bury, in-ground installation.

The system pairs with a 42 in. x 60 in. Rectangular Clear Acrylic (RPGR) backboard, made from 3/8 in. thick shatter proof clear acrylic that is fade resistant and highly resistant to scuffs and abrasions, and will never fog or cloud. The backboard is encased in an all aluminum frame, fully supported by a welded steel back frame, and features a standard 5 in. x 5 in. hole pattern. The backboard comes with a 10 Year limited warranty.

Completing the system is a Flex Breakaway Rim, offering an accordion-like breakaway action suited for institutional use without a positive lock mechanism. Its no-tie attachment and universal backplate make it broadly compatible with non-competition backboard and rim combinations, from playgrounds to recreational facilities. The rim measures 8.50 in. x 20.25 in. x 26.00 in. and carries a 2 year warranty. This package is well suited for parks, schools, camps, and recreational facilities.

Douglas Industries, Inc. (Eldridge, Iowa) backs its equipment with the Douglas® Standard Limited Warranty against defects in material and factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — where a specific period is listed above, that period applies to this model. Douglas warranty periods run as follows:

Limited Lifetime – gooseneck basketball posts with 6' extension.
25 years – gooseneck basketball posts with 4' extension.
10 years – gooseneck posts with 3' extension; pro-rated structural warranty on Bakko and steel/aluminum backboards (1 year on the Imron® finish); selected post and net systems.
7 years – Douglas® MAX batting tunnel frames (with proper installation and normal use).
5 years – standard Douglas® batting tunnel frames, most tennis / volleyball / pickleball post systems and Premier™ posts; 5-year fade warranty on Sunbrella® canvas.
4 years – VCP MAX windscreen mesh, #420 knotless pylon netting and other netting lines; fabrics are warranted pro-rata for 3–4 years against material defects and poor workmanship.
3 years – selected fabric and netting products.
2 years – selected hardware and padding.
1 year – accessories, replacement parts and paint / finish coverage.

Digital printing on windscreen and vinyl products carries the same warranty as the underlying windscreen or vinyl material.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations, abuse or misuse, normal wear, and damage from fire, flood, wind, lightning or leaving products outdoors beyond their intended seasonal use.
