The Douglas Gooseneck 4.5" RST Basketball System is built for outdoor recreational use in schoolyards, municipal parks, and recreation facilities. The package centers on a heavy wall galvanized steel gooseneck post with a 4-1/2 in. outside diameter and a 4 in. extension, providing a 48 in. safe play area. The post stands approximately 13 ft. tall, with 3 ft. designed to be set into a 4 ft. x 2 ft. concrete footing for stability, and includes a welded backboard mounting plate for straightforward attachment.

The backboard is a 42 in. x 60 in. Rectangular Steel (RST) design, constructed from 12 gauge steel with a white powder-coat finish and printed target and border. An integral reinforcing steel channel on the reverse side adds mounting strength and board support, with 20 x 35 mounting centers and 5 x 5 hole spacing. Integral keyhole slots allow the goal to be replaced without removing the backboard itself.

Completing the system is the Dura Goal I front-mount rim, an 18 in. double steel ring with a 5/8 in. top ring and 1/2 in. bottom ring, dual 5/8 in. x 15 in. bracing, and a universal backplate. The complete system weighs 315 lbs. and includes documentation such as installation instructions, CAD drawings, and bid specifications for planning and procurement.

Douglas Industries, Inc. (Eldridge, Iowa) backs its equipment with the Douglas® Standard Limited Warranty against defects in material and factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — where a specific period is listed above, that period applies to this model. Douglas warranty periods run as follows:

Limited Lifetime – gooseneck basketball posts with 6' extension.
25 years – gooseneck basketball posts with 4' extension.
10 years – gooseneck posts with 3' extension; pro-rated structural warranty on Bakko and steel/aluminum backboards (1 year on the Imron® finish); selected post and net systems.
7 years – Douglas® MAX batting tunnel frames (with proper installation and normal use).
5 years – standard Douglas® batting tunnel frames, most tennis / volleyball / pickleball post systems and Premier™ posts; 5-year fade warranty on Sunbrella® canvas.
4 years – VCP MAX windscreen mesh, #420 knotless pylon netting and other netting lines; fabrics are warranted pro-rata for 3–4 years against material defects and poor workmanship.
3 years – selected fabric and netting products.
2 years – selected hardware and padding.
1 year – accessories, replacement parts and paint / finish coverage.

Digital printing on windscreen and vinyl products carries the same warranty as the underlying windscreen or vinyl material.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations, abuse or misuse, normal wear, and damage from fire, flood, wind, lightning or leaving products outdoors beyond their intended seasonal use.
