The Sport Select Basketball System from First Team Sports uses a one-piece 4" square vertical pole with a minimum 11 gauge wall thickness, designed to be buried 36" in concrete and sealed with a watertight vinyl cap. The 45-degree extension arm is built from 2"x3" rectangular 11 gauge steel tubing, providing a 24" extension from the pole to the backboard, with rim bolts passing directly through the backboard into the extension arm for added strength and safety. The arm is secured to the pole with two 4" zinc plated U-bolts, and two 1" round backboard braces support the upper corners of the backboard.

All steel pole components are welded using a continuous MIG weld for maximum penetration, and the pole receives a polyester powder-coated black finish. The backboard is a 36"x60" rectangular acrylic panel, 1/2" thick, framed in 1/8" anodized aluminum, with a bright white 2" border and an official shooters square screened on the backside to reduce wear.

The standard rim is a flexible, institutional-quality design that absorbs player contact stress via a heavy duty compression wire spring, fully enclosed by a steel coverplate. Structural components are built of no less than 3/16" steel, with an official 5/8" diameter high strength steel ring supported by a 3/16" brace covering 60% of the ring, punched for either a 3"x4" or 5"x5" hole pattern, and finished in orange powdercoat. The complete system weighs approximately 165# and the pole, backboard, and standard rim are backed by a Lifetime Limited Warranty.

Lifetime Limited Warranty

Every First Team product is backed by First Team's warranty program. This model carries the warranty noted above. Here is what First Team's warranty tiers cover:

Limited Warranty - covers damage during normal, intended use. Excludes vandalism and deliberate damage. Normal wear from weathering or UV exposure is not covered; all painted items carry a 1-year limited warranty on coating.
Superior Warranty - additionally covers any damage or failure caused by basketball activity or contact with the unit, including deliberate hanging on the rim. Vandalism excluded.
Unconditional Warranty - the broadest tier: covers any damage or failure that occurs for any reason.
Manufacturer's Defect - all products are warranted against manufacturer's defects at delivery.

Warranties apply to the original purchaser only and are non-transferable; coverage ends on resale or transfer. Residential-only products are not covered for non-residential use.
