The RuffNeck Playground EXT features a vertical pole built from 4 ½" O.D. RS40 zinc flow coated steel tubing with a 7 ga. wall thickness, designed for a 48" ground bury and a 60" setback from post to backboard. Two 1" round galvanized tubular braces support the top corners of the backboard and connect directly to the pole, and the rim mounts directly through the backboard into the horizontal extension to eliminate backboard stress during play.

The backboard is a 42"x60" rectangular steel unit with an 11-gauge steel skin and ¼" thick vertical struts, finished in white powder coat with an official orange shooters square. The rim is fabricated from 3/16" backplates and side plates, fully welded, using a double 5/8" diameter high strength steel ring welded together at a minimum of six places, and is powder coated orange. Nets attach via a continuous net locking system made of 3/16"x1" steel with punched slots that accommodate nylon or chain nets, with a nylon net included; other rims, including outdoor breakaway rims, are also available.

The pole, backboard, and standard rim are backed by a 20-Year Limited Warranty, and the entire system weighs approximately 310#.

20-Year Limited Warranty

Every First Team product is backed by First Team's warranty program. This model carries the warranty noted above. Here is what First Team's warranty tiers cover:

Limited Warranty - covers damage during normal, intended use. Excludes vandalism and deliberate damage. Normal wear from weathering or UV exposure is not covered; all painted items carry a 1-year limited warranty on coating.
Superior Warranty - additionally covers any damage or failure caused by basketball activity or contact with the unit, including deliberate hanging on the rim. Vandalism excluded.
Unconditional Warranty - the broadest tier: covers any damage or failure that occurs for any reason.
Manufacturer's Defect - all products are warranted against manufacturer's defects at delivery.

Warranties apply to the original purchaser only and are non-transferable; coverage ends on resale or transfer. Residential-only products are not covered for non-residential use.
