The RuffNeck Select-EXT Basketball System is built with a robust vertical pole constructed of 4 ½" O.D. RS40 zinc flow coated steel tubing with a 7 ga. wall thickness, designed for a 48" bury into the ground. It provides a 60" setback from the post to the backboard, supported by two 1" round galvanized tubular braces connecting directly to the pole. This design ensures the rim mounts directly through the backboard into the horizontal extension, eliminating backboard stress during play.

The system's backboard is a 36"x 60" rectangular acrylic board, 1/2" thick, framed with a 1/8" thick anodized aluminum framework. It features a bright white 2" boarder and an official shooter's square screened on the backside to eliminate wear. The standard rim is of a flexible, institutional quality, featuring an official 5/8" diameter high strength steel ring supported by a 3/16" brace supporting 60% of the ring.

The rim is equipped with a heavy duty compression wire spring, a steel coverplate that encloses the entire internal mechanism, and structural components built of no less than 3/16" steel. It has an orange powdercoated finish and is punched to mount with either a 3"x 4" or 5"x 5" hole pattern. The entire system has an approximate weight of 245# and is covered by a 20-Year Limited Warranty for the pole, backboard, and standard rim.

20-Year Limited Warranty

Every First Team product is backed by First Team's warranty program. This model carries the warranty noted above. Here is what First Team's warranty tiers cover:

Limited Warranty - covers damage during normal, intended use. Excludes vandalism and deliberate damage. Normal wear from weathering or UV exposure is not covered; all painted items carry a 1-year limited warranty on coating.
Superior Warranty - additionally covers any damage or failure caused by basketball activity or contact with the unit, including deliberate hanging on the rim. Vandalism excluded.
Unconditional Warranty - the broadest tier: covers any damage or failure that occurs for any reason.
Manufacturer's Defect - all products are warranted against manufacturer's defects at delivery.

Warranties apply to the original purchaser only and are non-transferable; coverage ends on resale or transfer. Residential-only products are not covered for non-residential use.
