The First Team Tyrant Excel Basketball System features a 6 5/8” O.D. Schedule 40 galvanized steel vertical pole with a 72” setback and an optional backboard extension up to 78”. It includes a 42”x 72” rectangular steel backboard with a white powder coat finish and an official orange shooters square. The system is equipped with a double 5/8” diameter, high strength steel rim that mounts directly through the backboard, and the entire system weighs approximately 515#, backed by a Lifetime Unconditional Warranty on the pole, backboard, and standard rim.

The First Team Tyrant Excel Basketball System is built around a robust 6 5/8” O.D. Schedule 40 galvanized tubing vertical pole, designed for a 48” ground bury. This pole system provides a 72” setback from the post to the backboard. For enhanced stability, two 1” round tubular braces support the top corners of the backboard and connect directly to the pole. The design allows the rim to mount directly through the backboard into the horizontal extension, effectively eliminating backboard stress during play. Additionally, the backboard attachment is telescoping, offering the flexibility to extend up to 78” if desired.

The system features a 42”x 72” rectangular steel backboard, constructed with an 11-gauge steel skin and ¼” thick vertical struts. The backboard is finished with a white powder coat and includes an official orange shooters square. The standard rim is fabricated from 3/16” backplates and side plates, fully welded, and consists of double 5/8” diameter, high strength steel hoops welded in at least six places. It is finished with an orange powder coat and includes a continuous net locking system made of 3/16”x 1” steel, complete with a nylon net (compatible with chain nets). The entire system weighs approximately 515#.

For peace of mind, the pole, backboard, and standard rim of the Tyrant Excel Basketball System are covered by a Lifetime Unconditional Warranty.

Every First Team product is backed by First Team's warranty program. This model carries the warranty noted above. Here is what First Team's warranty tiers cover:

Limited Warranty - covers damage during normal, intended use. Excludes vandalism and deliberate damage. Normal wear from weathering or UV exposure is not covered; all painted items carry a 1-year limited warranty on coating.
Superior Warranty - additionally covers any damage or failure caused by basketball activity or contact with the unit, including deliberate hanging on the rim. Vandalism excluded.
Unconditional Warranty - the broadest tier: covers any damage or failure that occurs for any reason.
Manufacturer's Defect - all products are warranted against manufacturer's defects at delivery.

Warranties apply to the original purchaser only and are non-transferable; coverage ends on resale or transfer. Residential-only products are not covered for non-residential use.
