In short

The Gared GN35 is a commercial-quality 3-1/2" O.D. galvanized steel gooseneck basketball post for playgrounds and parks. Its traditional curved, fixed-height gooseneck extends the backboard 36" out from the post and includes V-braces that tie into the board to reduce vibration. It is supplied as a post only, for use with outdoor front-mount boards and goals; backboard, goal and concrete are not included.

The GN35 is Gared's economy playground gooseneck post: a single curved 3-1/2" O.D. [89 mm] x 0.160" wall galvanized steel tube that carries the backboard 36" out from the vertical post to create the safe play distance underneath. The height is fixed, which keeps the structure simple and durable for unsupervised outdoor sites.

A 1/4" [6.3 mm] thick front mount plate on the gooseneck acts as a direct goal attachment for the backboard, and two braces (AAB35-12, supplied with brace kit 15G353946) run from the upper backboard mounting points down to the gooseneck extension to add rigidity and cut vibration. The GN35 works with outdoor front-mount boards and goals; the GN35R is the rear-mount version.

For installation the post must extend at least 36" into a concrete footing that is a minimum of 24" in diameter and 48" deep, with concrete supplied by others. The post is galvanized steel in silver, made in the United States, and ships by truck at 130 lbs (58.97 kg) in a 37" x 3" x 48" carton.

Warranty

10-Year Limited Warranty against defects in material or factory workmanship

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.

Frequently asked questions

Does the GN35 include a backboard and goal?

No. In Gared's package component list the GN35 is shown with no board and no goal - it is the braced gooseneck post only, designed for outdoor front-mount boards and goals.

Can the GN35 height be adjusted?

No. The GN35 uses a traditional curved gooseneck design with a fixed height; the gooseneck extends the backboard 36" out from the post.

What foundation does the GN35 require?

The post must extend at least 36" into the concrete footing, and the footing must be at least 24" in diameter and 48" deep. Concrete for installation is not included.
