In short

The Gared GP106A72 is an in-ground Endurance(R) playground basketball system built on a 6" square steel post with a 6' safe play area. The package consists of the post, a 72" welded steel extension arm, two board braces, a 42" x 72" acrylic backboard (BB72A38) and an 8800 Endurance breakaway double rim. It suits parks, schools and outdoor courts, and Gared covers the post, extension arm and bracing with a lifetime warranty; pole padding is not included.

The GP100 Series post is 6" square ASTM A500 Gr B tubing with a 1/4" wall and an overall length of 14'-0" (4.27 m). The extension arm is a triangular design using tubing welded to a heavy plate and connected to the vertical post with four 3/4" diameter U-bolts. Two braces run from the upper mounting points of the backboard back to the vertical post and extension arm to add rigidity to the system.

Post and extension arm are hot dip galvanized and then powder coated black for extended protection from corrosion, and the hardware is zinc plated. That finish is what lets the GP106A72 stay outdoors year-round on playgrounds and municipal courts.

Installation needs a concrete foundation supplied by others. Gared's drawing calls for a minimum 3'-6" (1.07 m) deep footing, 2'-6" (0.76 m) in diameter, set over 6" (0.15 m) of gravel, and notes that the foundation size shown is a minimum that should be reviewed against local wind loads and soil conditions. Finished rim height is 10'-0" (3.05 m). Assembly should be carried out by a properly trained individual, and a preventative maintenance inspection should be performed at least once per year.

The GP100 platform is designed for regulation size aluminum frame glass, acrylic, polycarbonate or steel boards with breakaway or stationary goals, in four standard extension lengths. This GP106A72 configuration pairs the 72" arm with the BB72A38 board and the 8800 Endurance breakaway double rim. Padding is not supplied with the unit; PP6SQF fitted and PP6WR wrap-around pole pads are listed as accessories.

Warranty

Lifetime Warranty on post components (in-ground post, extension arm, bracing)

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.
