In short

The Gared GP106G72 Endurance Glass Playground Basketball System is a permanent in-ground outdoor basketball system built around a 6" square, 1/4" wall ASTM A500 GrB steel post with a 72" (6') welded steel extension arm. The package includes the post (9-72-0001), the 502003 extension arm, a BB72G50 42" x 72" glass backboard, an 8800 Endurance breakaway goal and the board brace kit. Pole padding is not included and the concrete foundation is supplied by others.

The GP106G72 is the 6' extension, glass backboard configuration of Gared's GP100 Series Endurance Playground System. The vertical post is 6" square tubing with a 1/4" wall in ASTM A500 GrB steel, and the extension arm uses a triangular tubing design welded to a heavy plate and connected to the post with four 3/4" diameter U-bolts. Two galvanized and powder coated braces run from the upper backboard mounting points back to the post and extension arm to add rigidity.

Every steel part is hot dip galvanized and then powder coated black for extended corrosion protection, and the hardware is zinc plated, so the system is suited to permanent outdoor playground and park installation. Mounting geometry follows the standard 10'-0" [3.05 m] rim height, and the 72" extension arm places the backboard 6' clear of the post for a full safe play area behind the goal.

This package ships as post 9-72-0001, extension arm 502003, BB72G50 glass backboard, 8800 Endurance breakaway goal, board brace 401653698 and brace kit 153453940. Installation requires a concrete foundation supplied by others, minimum 3'-6" [1.07 m] deep over a 0'-6" [0.15 m] gravel base, and the foundation size shown is a minimum that should be reviewed against local wind loads and soil conditions. Fitted and wrap-around pole pads (PP6SQF, PP6WR) are available separately.

Warranty

Lifetime Warranty on post components only (in-ground post, extension arm and bracing)

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.

They differ by extension arm length: GP104 uses a 48" arm, GP105 a 60" arm, GP106 a 72" arm and GP107 an 84" arm. The GP106G72 is the 72" extension version with the BB72G50 glass backboard and 8800 Endurance breakaway goal.
