In short

The Gared GN60 is a 5-9/16" O.D. galvanized gooseneck basketball post with a 6' extension arm for outdoor playground and park courts. The gooseneck design sets the backboard 6'-0" away from the post for a 72" safe play distance, and two braces run from the upper backboard mounting points to the gooseneck extension for rigidity. Backboard and goal are not included.

Creating an outdoor basketball court for rigorous games starts with the GN60 5-9/16" O.D. gooseneck basketball post with 6' extension arm. The extension provides a generous 72" safe play distance and includes bracing to reduce backboard vibration, and this massive post can withstand the weight requirements of any outdoor backboard and rim combination.

The post is 5-9/16" O.D. schedule 40 tubing with a 0.258" wall in ASTM500 grade B steel, hot dipped galvanized after welding. A mounting plate at the end of the gooseneck acts as the direct goal attachment for the backboard, and two braces extend from the upper mounting points of the backboard to the gooseneck extension to add rigidity. The underside of the post arm sits 9'-5 3/4" above the playing surface on this front-mount model.

The GN60 works with outdoor front and fan type mount boards and goals; the rear-mount GN60R covers rear mount boards, and BB series boards require additional parts. The post must extend at least 36" into a concrete footing that is a minimum of 36" in diameter and 48" deep - concrete is supplied by others, and high wind load locations may require a deeper foundation depending on location and soil type. A PP6WR wrap-around pole pad is available.

Warranty

Lifetime Warranty against defects in material or factory workmanship

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.

Is a backboard or rim included with the GN60?

No. The GN60 is the gooseneck post with braces only. It accepts outdoor front and fan type mount boards and goals, which are ordered separately; mounting BB series boards requires additional parts.
