In short

The Gared AABS65 is a massive 6-5/8" O.D. galvanized straight post with a 6' horizontal extension arm for outdoor playground and park basketball courts. The arm delivers a 72" safe play distance and can be repositioned on site with two 1/2" U-bolts so younger players can use the same unit. Backboard and goal are not included; the post accepts most outdoor front-mounted boards and goals.

Creating an outdoor basketball court for rigorous games starts with the AABS65 6-5/8" O.D. straight basketball post with 6' horizontal extension arm. The arm provides a huge 72" safe play distance and includes a V-brace to reduce backboard vibration plus an additional strut for increased rigidity. The massive post can withstand the weight requirements of any outdoor backboard and rim combination.

Height adjustment is part of the design: the 4-1/2" O.D. galvanized extension arm is clamped to the vertical post by two 1/2" diameter U-bolts, so it can be raised or lowered on site for younger kids. The arm extends 70-1/2" out from the vertical post, and a mounting plate serves as the direct goal attachment for the backboard. Two braces run from the upper mounting points of the backboard down to the post-strut attachment.

Posts, arm, strut and braces all carry a galvanized steel finish. The post must extend at least 36" into the concrete footing, and the footing must be a minimum of 36" in diameter and 48" deep; concrete is supplied by others and the foundation shown is a minimum that should be reviewed against local wind loads and soil conditions. A PP8WR wrap-around pole pad is available as an accessory.

Warranty

Lifetime Warranty against defects in material or factory workmanship

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.
