In short

The Gared Hoopmaster LT 54 (9305-54) is a recreational portable basketball backstop for courts with space limitations. It uses a spring loaded, easy lift-and-set tension system with a 5' boom and a 54" glass backboard, and does not require anchors into the play surface. The vinyl-padded base can be decorated to promote team and sponsor marketing.

The Hoopmaster LT 54 is the smaller-board version of Gared's LT portable line. Its 54" glass backboard and 5' boom keep the working footprint compact, which suits multi-purpose gyms, side courts and recreation spaces where a full-size portable will not fit. The spring loaded lift-and-set tension system raises and sets the backstop without power.

The unit does not require anchors into play surfaces, so it can be rolled into position on the front casters and levelled with two 3" threaded pads at the front of the base. An optional floor anchor kit, model 9155, is available where a fixed position is preferred. The base is fully covered in vinyl padding for player safety.

Assembly follows Gared installation manual 551751114, which covers both the 9305-54 and 9305-72. The shipping brace must stay in place until the backboard and goal are installed, and the goal mounts with two 3/8" carriage bolts through the top holes and two 3/8" hex bolts through the lower holes. The unit ships at 1525 lbs (691.73 kg) with shipping dimensions of 45" x 36" x 96".

Warranty

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the 9305-54 and the 9305-72?

Both use the same 5' boom and spring loaded lift-and-set tension system and share installation manual 551751114; the 9305-54 has a 54" glass backboard while the 9305-72 has a 72" glass backboard.

Does the Hoopmaster LT 54 have to be bolted to the floor?

No. The unit does not require anchors into play surfaces. An optional floor anchor kit, model 9155, is available if a fixed installation is wanted.

How is the unit levelled after it is rolled into place?

Two 3" leveling pads thread onto the rods at the front of the base and are lowered until the front casters sit about 1/4" off the floor, with the unit raised evenly.
