In short

The Gared Hoopmaster LT 72 (9305-72) is a recreational portable basketball backstop for gyms and courts with limited space. It combines a spring loaded, easy lift-and-set tension system with a 5' boom and a 72" glass backboard, and it does not require anchors into the play surface. The base is fully covered in vinyl padding and can be decorated for team or sponsor graphics.

The Hoopmaster LT 72 is aimed at facilities that need a movable basketball backstop but cannot give up much floor space behind the baseline. The 5' boom keeps the footprint tight while the 72" glass backboard delivers a full recreational playing surface, and the spring loaded lift-and-set tension system means the unit can be raised and set without power or tools.

Because the system does not require anchors into the play surface, it can be rolled into position on the front casters and levelled with two 3" threaded pads at the front of the base. An optional floor anchor kit, model 9155, is available where a fixed position is preferred. The base is fully covered in vinyl padding for player safety and is a common surface for team and sponsor decoration.

Assembly follows the Gared Hoopmaster LT Portable installation manual, which covers models 9305-54 and 9305-72. The shipping brace must not be removed before the backboard and goal are installed, and the goal attaches with two 3/8" carriage bolts through the top mounting holes and two 3/8" hex bolts through the lower holes. The unit ships at 1555 lbs (705.34 kg) with shipping dimensions of 45" x 36" x 96".

Warranty

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.

Does the Hoopmaster LT 72 need to be anchored into the floor?

No. The unit does not require anchors into play surfaces. An optional floor anchor kit, model 9155, is available if a fixed installation is wanted.
