The Gared 4000+ Multi-Directional Breakaway Basketball Rim features an exclusive three-spring design with an adjustable detent spring that provides positive lock in the play position while allowing controlled breakaway action from the front or sides. Factory set to release at 180-200 lb of force, the rim automatically returns to play position once the load is released, offering durability for high-energy, constant play environments.

Constructed from welded steel with an official 18" ring of 5/8" diameter steel, the goal is reinforced by a continuous welded wrap-around brace for structural integrity. The tube-style net connection is designed to extend the life of anti-whip nets, and the orange powder coat finish provides a durable, official appearance. A universal mounting plate ensures compatibility with most 42" rectangular and fan-shaped backboards.

This goal meets NCAA, NFHS, NAIA, and FIBA specifications, including NCAA rim elasticity requirements verified through Fair Court measurement testing. Installation requires basic tools (Phillips screwdriver, 9/16" and 11/16" wrenches, 7/32" Allen wrench, and a level), with specified torque settings for both stud and bolt hardware to ensure secure, vibration-free mounting.

Warranty

5 years from date of substantial completion against defects in material or factory workmanship.

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.
