In short

The Gared OmniSteel 5100 is a complete one-court volleyball system built around 3" telescopic padded steel uprights that set into in-floor sleeves. It ships with a winch post (5106), an end post (5107), two 3-1/2" O.D. floor sleeves, two 6" brass floor covers, a competition net, net antennas, sideline markers and a cable cover set. Net height is set by a sliding collar and pin-lock mechanism integrated into the upright, then tensioned with the handled winch.

The 5100 OmniSteel one-court system uses 3" telescopic padded steel uprights, which keep the sightline clear for the referee while still carrying competition net tension. The upper telescopic tube is repositioned by removing the adjustment pin and reinserting it at the desired playing height; heights are marked for men's and women's play. Final tensioning is done with the handled winch on the winch post, and minor height corrections can be made by screwing the foot pads on the bottom of the posts in or out.

Floor sleeves and cover plates are part of the package. The 3-1/2" O.D. x 9.0" tall sleeves (part 6404) and 6" brass floor covers (part 6430) minimize floor damage and give the posts their stability. Gared normally ships these two items early so they can be grouted in at the time of original construction; the posts themselves arrive fully assembled.

Installation calls for two sleeve centers marked exactly 36 feet apart, 5" diameter holes cut through the playing surface and concrete slab, and non-shrink grout. The inside bottom of the sleeve must sit 11" below the top surface of the floor, since incorrect sleeve depth produces a net height error, and the grout needs a minimum of seven days to cure before the posts are set. A router-cut counterbore of 6-7/16" diameter by 9/16" deep receives the brass floor cover.

Warranty

10 years on uprights / 3 years on winch assembly, floor sleeves and cover plates

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.

How far apart do the floor sleeves have to be?

Mark the two sleeve centers exactly 36 feet apart. If the sleeves need to be more or less than 36 feet apart, contact a PSS or Gared representative before cutting.

How is the net height adjusted?

Remove the adjustment pin, slide the upper telescopic tube to the desired playing height and reinsert the pin. Heights are marked for men's and women's play, and the net is then tightened by turning the winch handle clockwise.
