In short

The Gared SideOut ODVB is an outdoor volleyball post system built from 2-3/8" O.D. galvanized steel uprights that stand 10'-0" tall and set 20" in ground. It includes two 20" PVC ground sleeves with powder coated steel caps, a net tensioning winch, rope ratchets and plated eyebolts pre-set for men's, women's and badminton net heights. Nets (ODVBNET or ODVBNET32) are sold separately.

The ODVB takes the volleyball court outdoors and is designed for use in a school, park or playground environment. The 2-3/8" O.D. galvanized steel posts are constructed to stand up to athletes of all ages, and all hardware is galvanized or plated to protect against corrosion.

Uprights are 10'-0" tall, allowing for a 20" in-ground installation for maximum play stability. Each upright carries plated eyebolts for two volleyball net heights - men's at 95-5/8" [2.429 m] and women's at 88-1/8" [2.238 m] - plus a badminton height of 60" [1.524 m], so one set of posts covers multiple activities.

One upright carries a net tensioning winch to adjust the tension of the top net cable, while rope ratchets tension the net itself. Two 20" [508 mm] PVC ground sleeves and two powder coated steel caps are included for semi-permanent installation; concrete foundation and net are not included. Post centers are 32'-0" with the 28' ODVBNET or 36'-0" with the 32' ODVBNET32.

Warranty

1-Year Limited Warranty against defects in material or factory workmanship

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.

Frequently asked questions

Is the net included with the ODVB system?

No. The net must be specified and ordered separately: model ODVBNET (28 ft, for post centers at 32') or ODVBNET32 (32 ft, for post centers at 36').

What foundation does the ODVB require?

Each post needs a hole a minimum of 15" in diameter and 30" deep, poured level with concrete (minimum of 7 cubic feet) while setting the ground sleeve flush with the finished playing surface. Concrete must cure at least 24 hours before continuing.

Can the ODVB be used for badminton?

Yes. The uprights are pre-drilled with eyebolts for a lower badminton net height of 60" [1.524 m] in addition to men's and women's volleyball heights.
