The First Team Legend Jr. III Basketball System is built around a 5" square 3/16" wall steel vertical pole, which is designed to be buried 42" in concrete and sealed with a watertight cap. A 5" square 3/16" wall steel extension arm provides a 52" extension from the pole to the backboard face, further supported by a ¼" thick mounting plate and a secondary 4" square arm. The arm attaches to the pole using two ½" thick steel plates and six 5/8" high strength bolts.

This system features a 36"x 54" rectangular acrylic backboard, 1/2" thick, framed with a 1/8" thick anodized aluminum framework. The backboard has a bright white 2" border and an official shooters square screened on its backside. The institutional quality, flexible rim includes a heavy duty compression wire spring and a steel coverplate for its internal mechanism. The rim's 5/8" diameter high strength steel ring is supported by a 3/16" brace covering 60% of the ring, with all structural components being no less than 3/16" steel.

The Legend Jr. III allows for rim height adjustment from 6' to 10'. Both the rim and backboard are directly mounted to the pole with high strength steel bolts to transfer weight efficiently and eliminate rust streaks on the backboard face. All pole components have a polyester powder-coated black finish and are welded using maximum penetration, continuous weld, MIG procedure. The entire system has an approximate weight of 345#, and the pole, backboard, and standard rim come with a Lifetime Superior Warranty.

Every First Team product is backed by First Team's warranty program. This model carries the warranty noted above. Here is what First Team's warranty tiers cover:

Limited Warranty - covers damage during normal, intended use. Excludes vandalism and deliberate damage. Normal wear from weathering or UV exposure is not covered; all painted items carry a 1-year limited warranty on coating.
Superior Warranty - additionally covers any damage or failure caused by basketball activity or contact with the unit, including deliberate hanging on the rim. Vandalism excluded.
Unconditional Warranty - the broadest tier: covers any damage or failure that occurs for any reason.
Manufacturer's Defect - all products are warranted against manufacturer's defects at delivery.

Warranties apply to the original purchaser only and are non-transferable; coverage ends on resale or transfer. Residential-only products are not covered for non-residential use.
