In short

The Gared 1123 Manual Winch is a wall-mounted hand winch for manually raising and lowering folding basketball backstops. It uses a semi-enclosed, self-lubricating worm gear rated for 1000 lbs and a grooved drum with a constant pressure roller so the cable winds evenly. It ships with a cover, a wood pad for wall mounting, mounting hardware for the winch-to-pad connection, and a removable crank handle with a free turning sleeve.

The 1123 is Gared's cost-effective option for manually operating folding basketball backstops. The winch is built with a precision interlocking steel frame for high rigidity and precise alignment, and is supported by large diameter ball bearings with through-the-drum type rope anchoring.

Braking is provided by double, self-locking worm gearing combined with a passive uni-directional brake. The grooved drum and constant pressure roller keep the cable from climbing the drum ends during winding. The unit mounts directly to the wall on the supplied wood pad and uses a 3/4" square drive with a removable handle whose free turning sleeve gives an easy, no-friction grip.

Hardware for mounting the winch to the wood pad is included; hardware for fastening the wood pad to the wall is not. The 1/4" diameter aircraft cable is supplied separately. If you later want powered operation, the compatible portable electric winch winder is Performance Sports Systems model 1119.

5-Year Limited Warranty against defects in material or factory workmanship

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.
