The Douglas PLTN-28 Platform Tennis Net is manufactured to official platform tennis dimensions of 23 ft. in length by 36 in. in height, satisfying USTA size requirements for regulation play. The headband is constructed from 65 oz (20 oz./sq. yd.) 2-ply vinyl coated polyester and is lock-sewn using four rows of #32 white polyester thread for durability, while a vinyl coated 5/32 in. galvanized steel cable with a 2300 lb. break strength runs through the headband for tensioning strength.

The netting itself is a 1-3/4 in. square mesh braided solid core polyethylene, chosen for its resistance to wear and weather exposure. The netting measures 3.0 mm in diameter and carries a 285 lb. break strength rating. Side and bottom tape sections are vinyl and polyester based, resistant to shrinking, mildew, and rot, and are double lock-stitched with black polyester thread for long-term reliability.

The net ships complete with 1/2 in. fiberglass side dowels and lacing cord for installation. It weighs 11.000 lbs and is covered by a 4-Year Limited warranty from Douglas.

4 Year Limited

Douglas Industries, Inc. (Eldridge, Iowa) backs its equipment with the Douglas® Standard Limited Warranty against defects in material and factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — where a specific period is listed above, that period applies to this model. Douglas warranty periods run as follows:

Limited Lifetime – gooseneck basketball posts with 6' extension.
25 years – gooseneck basketball posts with 4' extension.
10 years – gooseneck posts with 3' extension; pro-rated structural warranty on Bakko and steel/aluminum backboards (1 year on the Imron® finish); selected post and net systems.
7 years – Douglas® MAX batting tunnel frames (with proper installation and normal use).
5 years – standard Douglas® batting tunnel frames, most tennis / volleyball / pickleball post systems and Premier™ posts; 5-year fade warranty on Sunbrella® canvas.
4 years – VCP MAX windscreen mesh, #420 knotless pylon netting and other netting lines; fabrics are warranted pro-rata for 3–4 years against material defects and poor workmanship.
3 years – selected fabric and netting products.
2 years – selected hardware and padding.
1 year – accessories, replacement parts and paint / finish coverage.

Digital printing on windscreen and vinyl products carries the same warranty as the underlying windscreen or vinyl material.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations, abuse or misuse, normal wear, and damage from fire, flood, wind, lightning or leaving products outdoors beyond their intended seasonal use.
