In short

The Gared 1131 is a manual Adjust-A-Goal height adjuster for single post basketball backstops that sets the backboard between 8' and 10' by turning a removable hand crank from floor level. A spring-activated manual locking mechanism holds the hardened 5/8" stub acme screw rod in place so the board does not drift from the set height. The crank and the board attachment kits are purchased separately.

The 1131 adds height adjustment to an existing hoop so one goal can serve athletes of all ages. It adjusts goal height from 8' to 10' and is operated from floor level with a removable hand crank. The unit may be installed on any PSS and/or Gared Performance Sports Systems basketball unit as well as many units by other manufacturers.

Vertical tubing lets the slide tubing move freely without binding. The horizontal structure consists of two 2" x 4" x 3/16" thick steel L braces, one at each end, and a 1 1/2" x 3" x 3/16" thick steel tube acts as the direct goal attachment, transferring loads from the backboard into the surrounding framework. All components are welded to ensure stability during normal play, and the screw rod is a hardened 5/8" diameter stub acme thread design.

A spring loaded lock on the rod at the lower brace locks the rod in place whenever the unit is not being controlled by the crank handle, which eliminates drift from the set height. A height adjustment label outside the slide channel shows settings from 8' to 10' in 3" increments. The unit is furnished with a standard flat black finish, should not be painted after shipment, and must be lubricated periodically. Accessories include the 9120-11-08 crank and extension rod, the 1125 portable cordless electric crank, and electric conversion kits 155351211 (115V 1PH 60Hz) and 155351440 (220V 1PH 50/60Hz).

Warranty

1-Year Limited Warranty (1130/1140 Series Manual Adjust-A-Goals)

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.

Is the crank handle included with the 1131?

No. Height is adjusted with a hand held removable crank that is purchased separately; the 9120-11-08 Adjust-A-Goal crank and extension rod is the listed accessory. Attachment kits are also sold separately.
