In short

The Gared 1197 pairs the model 1194 electric basketball hoist with the model 1199 wireless remote receiver, so ceiling-hung backstops can be raised and lowered without running wiring for individual key switches. The 3/4 HP, 115 VAC single phase motor drives a 200:1 double worm gear box rated up to 1000 lbs. The model 1198 hand held transmitter is required for wireless operation and is not included.

The 1197 is the factory-assembled combination of Gared's 1194 electric hoist and 1199 wireless remote receiver. Buying them together removes the conduit and wiring runs that individual key switches would otherwise require in a gymnasium ceiling.

The hoist motor is 3/4 HP, 110/115/120 VAC, 60 Hz single phase, with instant reversing and thermal overload protection. It drives a 200:1 ratio double worm gear box with a maximum load rating up to 1000 lbs, and the unit can be mounted right side up or upside down to suit the superstructure.

The 120 volt commercial receiver is factory wired into a metal enclosure with a 3-1/2" pipe clamp that attaches to 3.5" (90 mm) O.D. overhead superstructure tube, and it can be coded for individual operation. A 4' (1.22 m) cord with an L14-20 twist-lock grounded plug connects it; the matching receptacle and cover mount in a 4" square box supplied by others. The hoist itself uses a 6 ft L14-20 cord.

Wireless operation requires the model 1198 battery powered hand held transmitter, which can operate up to 99 individual hoists and is not included in this package. The remote operator can also be wired to a key switch when required - one is included with the 1194 hoist. All other electrical, junction and synchronizer boxes must be furnished and installed by a certified electrical contractor following local safety codes.

Warranty

5-Year Limited Warranty

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.
