The Bownet Backstop is a large-scale portable net built to protect players, coaches, and spectators from stray throws and hits during baseball, softball, and other practice sessions. Measuring 17 ft. 6 in. wide by 9 ft. 6 in. high with extended wings and overhang, it provides expansive coverage when placed behind home plate, and can also serve as a catching net for lacrosse balls or footballs.

Construction includes composite BOW poles and a powder-coated steel frame, paired with a hanging baffle net on the back that can be used for attachments such as strike zones. Non-marking rubber feet and ground stakes help keep the unit stable during use, while the netting is designed to spread the force of ball impacts across the whole surface to reduce strain on any single point.

The Backstop sets up in about 3 minutes with two people and breaks down into a weather-resistant roller case measuring 52 in. x 16 in. x 10 in. for storage or transport. It ships in a box measuring 54 in. x 17 in. x 11 in. and weighing 58 lbs., and the unit itself weighs 50 lbs.

1 year limited manufacturer warranty

Bownet Sports warrants brand-new products purchased from Bownet or an authorized dealer within the USA against manufacturing defects, with replacement shipping to the United States only. Coverage runs as follows:

1 year – Limited Manufacturer’s Warranty on nets, frames and training products; covers manufacturing defects only.
1 year – Commander Series bags (manufacturing defects on Commander bags only).
6 months – carrying bags and roller bags.
+1 year Extended Warranty – optional, must be purchased together with the product; available for sports nets and goals only, and does not cover frame damage caused by abuse or improper use.

Bownet supplies replacement parts for all manufacturing defects; if a part is no longer available, a like product of the same SKU as on the original receipt is provided. Damaged or missing parts should be replaced promptly to keep the product covered.

Not covered: normal wear and tear, abuse, accident damage or damage from dragging the product; equipment left set up unattended, overnight or for extended periods in inclement weather; nets used for a sport other than the one they were designed for; and commercial use — Bownet nets are engineered to be portable, not for commercial installations. Discontinued Shadow bags are excluded. As an authorized Bownet dealer, JoySportStore helps you file warranty claims directly with the manufacturer.
