The Softball Hack Attack Conversion Kit is designed for teams and facilities that already own a Softball Hack Attack pitching machine and want to add baseball capability without purchasing a second machine. The kit swaps out the softball-specific throwing components for baseball equivalents, effectively transforming the machine's function while reusing the existing base and motor assembly.
Included in the kit are three (3) baseball throwing wheels, a baseball ball chute, and three (3) baseball legs, replacing the softball-sized parts. Once installed, the machine gains access to the Hack Attack baseball platform's signature three-wheel throwing design, which grips the ball in three locations for improved control and accuracy compared to two-wheel designs, and allows fastballs, curves, sliders, split fingers and knuckle pitches to be dialed in simply by adjusting wheel speeds rather than repositioning the throwing head.
After conversion, the machine is rated for regulation leather or dimpled baseballs at 9" regulation size, and is capable of speeds of 100+ MPH along with fungo work such as 380 ft. fly balls, tailing line drives, top-spin grounders and catcher's pop-ups. Synthetic leather balls should not be used, as they wear quickly and leave residue on the throwing wheels.
