Gared Outdoor Inground Pickleball System

The post set consists of one winch post and one end post made from heavy-duty 3" [76.2 mm] round tubular steel, each 58" [1.47 m] overall and standing roughly 36" above the finished surface once seated in its sleeve. The winch post carries a premium brass worm gear winder and pulley to bring the net top wire up to tension, while the end post uses a cast aluminum rope guide to hold the net centered. Both posts have integral welded lacing bars, and the end post adds J hooks at two heights to suit different top cord lengths.

The PKLBNET net is 21'-9" [6.63 m] long excluding the cable and at least 32" tall in play. Its headband is 2" wide double-reinforced white vinyl-coated polyester with four rows of accu-stitching, the body is high-density braided polyethylene twine in a 1.5" mesh, and the side and bottom tapes are extra heavy-duty black vinyl-coated polyester double stitched with black polyester thread. A PVC-coated aircraft cable headline and dowels in the side pockets keep the net rigid at the lacing.

Installation uses the PKLBCOVER ground sleeve kit: two 3.50" O.D. Class 200 PVC rigid pipe sleeves 23.5" tall with steel cap plate weldments, open at the bottom to drain. Sleeves are set in concrete 22'-3" apart center to center, on gravel for drainage, with a threaded rod acting as an integral stop so the posts always return to the correct height. Concrete and gravel are supplied by others. In play the net is tensioned until it measures 34" [864 mm] at the center of the court.

How far apart do the sleeves need to be set?

Post sleeves must be spaced 22'-3" from sleeve center to center, which gives 22'-0" inside to inside between the posts. They are set in concrete over gravel and finished 3/16" below the playing surface.

How is the net tensioned to the correct height?

Crank the brass worm gear winch on the winch post clockwise until the net cable is tensioned and the top of the net measures 34" [864 mm] at the center of the court. The crank can then be removed to prevent tampering.

Can the posts be removed when the court is used for other sports?

Yes. The posts lift out of the ground sleeves and the sleeve caps fit flush with the playing surface, keeping debris out of the sleeve and preventing anyone from stepping into an open hole.
