The First Team RetroFit42 Arena Backboard Refurbishing Kit features a 42”x72” rectangular aluminum backboard with a 10 gauge skin and a 1/4” rear support strap structure. Its face is punched throughout with 3/8” holes, excluding a 2” border and shooters square area, and is coated with a white powder coat. The kit also includes a standard rim fabricated from 3/16” backplates and side plates, made of double 5/8” diameter high strength steel welded at a minimum of six places, and finished with an orange powder coat.

The support structure is 1/4” thick steel construction, powder coated silver, and designed to bolt into the backside of several 42” tall First Team backboards. It provides vertical mounting slots for attachment to most poles with a faceplate at least 6”x6” and offers adequate rim support to guard against backboard breakage. The backboard itself is designed to accept rims with a 5”x5” hole pattern, and a nylon net is included with the standard rim, utilizing a net locking system for nylon or chain nets.

The entire system has an approximate weight of 167#. A Lifetime Limited Warranty is provided for the support structure, backboard, and standard rim. The backboard component of this kit is manufactured in the USA.

Lifetime Limited Warranty

Every First Team product is backed by First Team's warranty program. This model carries the warranty noted above. Here is what First Team's warranty tiers cover:

Limited Warranty - covers damage during normal, intended use. Excludes vandalism and deliberate damage. Normal wear from weathering or UV exposure is not covered; all painted items carry a 1-year limited warranty on coating.
Superior Warranty - additionally covers any damage or failure caused by basketball activity or contact with the unit, including deliberate hanging on the rim. Vandalism excluded.
Unconditional Warranty - the broadest tier: covers any damage or failure that occurs for any reason.
Manufacturer's Defect - all products are warranted against manufacturer's defects at delivery.

Warranties apply to the original purchaser only and are non-transferable; coverage ends on resale or transfer. Residential-only products are not covered for non-residential use.
