The First Team RetroFit36 III Backboard Refurbishing Kit, also referred to as Retrofit36 Endura, features a robust 1/4” thick steel support structure (FT36RF) that is powder coated silver. This structure is specifically designed to bolt into the backside of most 36” tall backboards manufactured by First Team, Inc. It also provides vertical mounting slots for attachment to most poles with a faceplate at least 6”x6”, potentially requiring drilling, and incorporates adequate rim support to prevent backboard breakage from players hanging on the rim.

The kit includes a 36”x 60” rectangular aluminum backboard, featuring a 10-gauge aluminum pan skin. The backboard is finished with a white powder coat and marked with an official orange shooters square. The standard rim provided is fabricated from 3/16” backplates and side plates, fully welded, and constructed from double 5/8” diameter high strength steel welded at a minimum of six places. The rim is powder coated orange and includes a net locking system that accommodates both nylon and chain nets, with a nylon net being included. Other rim options, such as outdoor breakaway rims, are available. The complete system has an approximate weight of 145# and carries a Lifetime Limited Warranty for the support structure, backboard, and standard rim.

Lifetime Limited Warranty

Every First Team product is backed by First Team's warranty program. This model carries the warranty noted above. Here is what First Team's warranty tiers cover:

Limited Warranty - covers damage during normal, intended use. Excludes vandalism and deliberate damage. Normal wear from weathering or UV exposure is not covered; all painted items carry a 1-year limited warranty on coating.
Superior Warranty - additionally covers any damage or failure caused by basketball activity or contact with the unit, including deliberate hanging on the rim. Vandalism excluded.
Unconditional Warranty - the broadest tier: covers any damage or failure that occurs for any reason.
Manufacturer's Defect - all products are warranted against manufacturer's defects at delivery.

Warranties apply to the original purchaser only and are non-transferable; coverage ends on resale or transfer. Residential-only products are not covered for non-residential use.
