In short

The Gared 6406 is an above-floor end T-base sleeve for 3-1/2" volleyball posts, intended for facilities where the sub-floor will not accept a traditional in-ground floor sleeve. The welded steel T-base anchors to the floor with an included floor anchor instead of cables or rigid supports and rides on 2" non-marking transport wheels. It works with Gared Volleyball Systems models 6000 and 6100, with modification to post lengths required.

Above floor sleeves are used with floor anchors when the floor will not accept traditional in-ground floor sleeves. The 6406 T-type base provides superior support and eliminates the need for dangerous cables or rigid supports, so a facility with an inadequate sub-floor structure can still run competition volleyball.

The base is constructed of welded steel tubing with a black powder coat finish, and the sleeve accepts a 3-1/2" [89 mm] diameter volleyball post. Gross dimensions are 12" high x 20-3/4" long x 18" wide, and 2" non-marking transport wheels are included so the base can be rolled off the playing surface.

The T-base is securely locked in place with a 1/2" threaded rod on a hand knob that screws into a 1/2-13 floor anchor. The anchor is included, but the style must be specified with the order: BX and B for wood floors installed directly over concrete, C for concrete or synthetic floors over concrete, and E for floating wood floors on sleepers or metal clip fasteners. The 6406 is sold as each.

Warranty

1-Year Limited Warranty against defects in material or factory workmanship

Gared Holdings LLC warrants its equipment against defects in material or factory workmanship. Coverage length depends on the product line — this model carries the warranty noted above where listed. Gared's warranty periods run as follows:

Lifetime - Endurance playground systems: in-ground post, extension arm and bracing components.
25 years - Standard Duty and Heavy Duty playground posts (braced gooseneck and adjustable straight post structures).
10 years - volleyball uprights on OmniSteel, OmniLite, RallyLine and GoCourt systems, and economy playground posts.
5 years - FGP series football goalposts, manual and electric winches, curtain hoists and the SafStop gymnasium structure.
4 years - 2500 / 2500I Tournament breakaway goals.
3 years - winch assemblies, floor sleeves and cover plates, and regulation volleyball nets.
2 years - portable winch winders and selected backboards.
1 year - nets, padding, base adapters, height adjusters, badminton and tetherball systems, referee stands and accessories.

The warranty period starts on the date of substantial completion (installation). Defects must be reported to Gared in writing during the warranty period with proof of purchase and the purchase or installation date; Gared will repair or replace the defective equipment at its discretion, with shipping, insurance and installation costs borne by the owner.

Not covered: improper installation, use other than intended, unauthorized alterations or modifications, abuse or misuse, and damage from fire, flood, wind or lightning. Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective equipment. As an authorized Gared dealer, JoySportStore files warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf.

What size posts does the 6406 accept?

The sleeve fits a 3-1/2" [89 mm] outside diameter volleyball post and is compatible with Gared Volleyball Systems models 6000 and 6100. Modification to in-ground post lengths will be required.

Is a floor anchor included with the 6406?

Yes. The anchor is included, but the type must be specified with the order: 151651460 Style BX, 151651461 Style B, 151651462 Style C or 151651463 Style E, depending on your floor construction.

Can this base be used for a multi-court layout?

The 6406 is an end base sold as each. For multi-court systems, the matching 6411 Center T-Base with 3.5" sleeve is used.
